Nan Hua Temple arranged a separate accommodation for men and women for the learners, four hours a day of computer lessons 3 vegetarian meals a day… to take advantage of NHA 1- month basic MOS course.
As the learners never had any contact with Buddhism, never lived in a monastery, never had strictly vegetarian meals for such a “long” time everyday, and never touched a computer before, the students grew and learned step-by-step, to achieve their dreams by using a computer. They had two computer lecturers, Andre and Bonolo, and after a month of intensive training, 13 students passed the international exam, and got the Ms Word & Ms Excel Certificate.
Then Nan Hua Academy specially chose the best five students to do further training, hoping that they can complete the examination of Ms PowerPoint and Ms Outlook and return to their hometown to teach computer skills to more people in the village. Also, on Sunday, the Nan Hua Temple Abbot, Venerable Master Hui Fang arranged a day trip for the students to Sun City and Soweto, to let the students see the two major tourist attractions in Gauteng & Northern Province.
In the closing ceremony, Mr. Gideon Sam (the students’ teacher from Eastern Cape ) said that he will help the students to find employment after this course as sports advisors & coaches, and in the future set up computer classes in the Eastern Cape with the help of Nan Hua Temple .
The sponsors, Mr. Vincent Lin and Sherry Chen encouraged thestudents to go forward and explore any opportunity in life.
Venerable Master Hui Fang asked the students to give back to the community the knowledge they received at Nanhua Academy. .
The students thanked Nan Hua Temple and Buddha's Light International Association for providing such a help & good opportunity, not only giving the learner free training and also giving the learner free accommodation and meals. They said “Thank you so much Nan Hua Temple and MAY THE BLESSINGS OF LORD BUDDHA BRINGS YOU MUCH SUCCESS.”
